I Survived the End of the World

(ASOS beanie, custom leather jacket from Shanghai, Anthropologie maxi-dress, Zara studded loafers)

Now with a clear schedule, I have more time on my hands to document my outfits and focus on my true passion, fashion. Yesterday at midnight was supposed to be the end of the world (according to the Mayans) but of course it did not because we are all still alive and well today. So, yay for surviving!!!

Today’s look is pretty chill because I didn’t have a busy day. I played model and photographer because my sister was working on her senior ad and she needed some photos to create her backdrop for her ad. Maybe I’ll show you some of the photographs I shot for my little sister once she is done with her background. Cheers to all over us surviving the end of the world, but we should all live life as if it were to end tomorrow. Peace and Love.

I’m Still Here…

Firstly, I want to apologize for my absence because it has been quite sometime (over a month) since I’ve posted and even then it was only a youtube video. I had been caught up on my university school work and the usual social aspect of university. It is now finals week and there is only a few days left of my Junior year in here the motherland. Because next semester, I will be going abroad for the second time around, this time I plan to take on Europe!! Currently, I’m at a very exciting yet stressful phase of my life, but I am trying to absorb every moment of time (bad and good, ups and downs).

I got to thinking about my future today after turning in my Finance exam. I asked myself .. “Is this what you want to do?” … “Be a Finance major?” … The answer to that question is NO! Non!! NEVERRR!! I want to do something that I love, something that I am passionate about, something that is natural to me. That is why instead of taking a very much needed nap, I logged on and started typing on here. From now on, I plan on having weekly updates and start having more “phootshoot-y” type posts to spread a little inspiration around (because in reality this is my inspiration and my creative board). Let’s go!

Peace and Love! xx

Red Lips

Red lips, oh where to begin. A red lipstick should be in every girl’s makeup bag. Red lips can dress up any outfit and just add that “Je ne sais quoi” to a look. I love pairing red lips with neutral eye makeup. When I wear red lips, I would usually just groom/ fill in my eye brows, add a somewhat thick line of eyeliner, a neutral pinky blush on the cheeks and finish it off with whatever choice of lipstick is for the night.

Now that the weather is finally cooling down, I feel like it is the perfect time to pull out those bright reds to the dark vampy/wine red lipsticks. So go on and get those lip sticks ready for those fall/winter festive parties. It is something that everyone can definitely pull off, and I think it doesn’t make an appearance as often as it should.

My personal favorite paring when wearing any type of red lips consists of my leather jacket, black jeans, white simple tee, black leather boots and of course my red lips.

Jason Wu Spring 2013

Jason Wu is one of my favorite designers of all time. He knows how to design for women, and he appreciates the “feminine form.” And absolutely in love with the model Cara Delevingne and the scrumptious crisp lips they highlighted in the model’s makeup. Jason Wu be my best friend if your reading! Enjoy the video.

Carolina Football Gameday Attire. GO COCKS!!

This morning I got up and did not have that many options in terms of outfits because it was Gameday here at USC (University of South Carolina). My color options today were either black, garnet/red or white; so, I went with all black for today’s game. I decided to wear a black skirt from Zara, basic black tank from Uniqlo, black crochet vest from a street vendor in Brasil and tan ankle booties from Unionbay. The high for today was a nearly scorching 90 degrees, and it almost felt like it was pushing the 100s because there were so many people and very little wind. But of course you can’t complain about the heat when you surround yourself with your friends and a good time.

Today we played against Missouri and beat them 31-10 and it was an entertaining game to watch/learn. I am not a big football fan because I was raised to be more of a soccer/basketball type of girl. BUT, I do have to admit that football is starting to grow on me. With Sarah’s help I could really fall in love with the game of football. I realized how football is such a huge part of the “Southern” culture. And growing up in the South, I feel like it is only right that inherit some of that football culture (even though I do not consider myself one bit of a southern gal). It was overall a delightful day and cannot wait for the next game against Georgia. I am proud to be a GAMECOCK!

My beautiful friend Sarah and me. Looking classy in all black for the game.

Me, Sarah and Becca.

Brothers for life. Matt, Me and Sarah.

Dreams Without Dreamers?

Hello there Fashionistas from various corners of the world. Welcome to Soy Sauce Fashion, this blog is my current substitute to fill my hunger for anything fashion. Being an International Business and Finance major does not help my ultimate dream to work in the fashion industry, but I guess we can all dream, right? Without dreams there aren’t dreamers, or wait, is it the other way around? Dreamers without dreams? Either way, “If you never chase your dreams, you’ll never catch them, eh?” Let’s see where this saucey blogging lifestyle will lead me. (Fingers crossed, hopefully straight to NYC)
